Founded in 1960, the Society for the Study of Labour History (SSLH) is the UK’s principal organisation dedicated to the study of labour history. The Constitution of the SSLH and its Code of Governance can be downloaded here.
Membership is open to everyone who would like to learn more about labour history and heritage whether on a professional or amateur basis.
The Society organises regular meetings and conferences and publishes the highly-regarded journal Labour History Review.
- Members receive 3 copies of the Labour History Review per year
- Members get online access to all digitised back copies back to 2005.
- Members get advance notice of events and conferences.
- Postgraduates (PhD) students who are members of the Society are entitled to apply for bursaries towards the cost of attending conferences hosted by the SSLH or related to the field of labour history. Please follow this link for more information on the post graduate bursary
